Measure S, also known as the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative, is a poorly written housing ban that will put a 2 year moratorium on new construction projects in the city of Los Angeles.
Measure S will significantly cut jobs across multiple sectors including construction companies, sales, retail, small businesses and large employers. It brings about an effective ban on desperately-needed new housing. According to a professional economic impact report produced by Beacon Economics, Measure S will increase costs to renters by $10.6 million, eliminate $640 million in wages, and destroy 12,000 jobs each year. Overall, Measure S means $1.9 billion in economic loss for Los Angeles every year.
SRAR remains a powerful voice in the NO on Measure S Coalition and urges its members in the city of Los Angeles to take action against this harmful ballot measure and vote NO on Measure S on March 7th.
